How can I manually flash the latest OTA?(ZenFone 2 ‏(ZE551ML)‏)

In case you want to update your firmware to the latest version, you have 2 methods:

1) If you want to update, for example, from 2.18 to 2.19 (as a patch)

2) If you want to flash the full firmware. This will work as a patch as well (so without losing data), but you would just have to push a bigger file.

You could choose to wipe the cache partition before, via the Recovery Menu if you want.

Method 1: Please note that by using this method you will patch your firmware with the succesive OTA.

Example: update from 2.18 to 2.19, but cannot use the 2.18 update over the 2.13. In case you really want this...you should download the 2.15 patch, then the 2.17, then the 2.18, etc....you could just easily choose the 2nd method, rather than doing this.

Here are the links for the updates. Download it and place it on your phone's root directory (do not unzip the file). You should receive a notitification. If not, try renaming it to your device's SKU (like changing its filename from WW to CN). If this doesn't work, rename it to MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip (if your haing an external SDcard. Power off your device and enter Recovery Mode. It should install the update. If it's not, and your having an external SD card, try placing the file in there, as well.

Method 2: Make sure you have the Intel driver & the ADB tools installed (follow the first two steps from the above "Change my firmware to WW or Change my Recovery to WW" for the links). Download the latest firmware from the ASUS Support Page (if you can't find it, try Method 1). Do not unzip it. Place it in the ADB install folder. Power off your device. Enter Recovery Mode. Choose apply update from adband connect your device via USB. In the ADB folder, hold shift and right click on an empty space and choose Open command window here. Type adb devices. Your device should appear. Type adb sideload file.zip(where file zip is the entire filename of the downloaded firmware zip - example: UL-Z00A-WW-2.18.40.12-user.zip). It should take a while.
